Experience Requirements:
5+ years of backend engineering experience, with recent experience in a jvm-based codebase
Exposure to C# or interest in learning it as part of a migration path
Strong understanding of APIs, messaging systems (Kafka), and modern data stores (Postgres, DynamoDB, OpenSearch)
Experience building services in a cloud-native environment, preferably AWS
Working knowledge of containers and Kubernetes
Other Requirements:
Comfortable working in a remote-first, asynchronous team environment
Familiarity with functional programming patterns and idiomatic Scala
Experience with Terraform, Helm, and GitHub Actions
Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch)
Prior work in security products, data pipelines, or high-availability systems
Responsibilities:
Contribute to feature development across our data platform and public API services, including ingestion, transformation, and enrichment of security data
Collaborate with product and platform engineers to align on system design, architecture, and data flow
Develop, test, deploy, and monitor Scala-based backend services that are reliable, secure, and performant
Support our gradual migration of certain APIs from Scala to C#, ensuring consistency and continuity
Maintain high standards for code quality, documentation, and operational reliability
