What happens when I use my website link to create a bot? What info does the bot read?
The crawler extracts visible, copyable text from your web pages. It shows extracted links, then generates a chatbot from these sources. You can customize the bot, then embed it on your website by adding a script tag.
Can I create a chatbot from a PDF file?
Yes! You can upload multiple PDF files to ChatShape and create a chatbot from your work documents.
Can I collect leads/emails from visitors?
Yes! An email input form can appear in the chat window to collect leads. View them in your dashboard with country info, conversations, and export them to a CSV file.
Can I view chatbot analytics and how many people chat with the bot?
Yes, all chatbot messages are recorded in your dashboard. You can view them and export them as a file to analyze bot interactions.
Can I update how my bot responds to customer requests before I embed it on my website?
Yes! You can update both the AI's prompt and the start message. This allows you to tune its responses over time after embedding it, customizing it to your exact needs.
What is the maximum number of sources I can create a bot from?
The maximum number of web sources depends on your chosen plan. The character count of each page is used to measure the size of a web source towards your plan's limit.
Can I add custom data to my bot beyond just scraping my website?
Yes, you can add custom data by updating the prompt on the chatbot manage settings page or by adding other web pages as sources. For large datasets, email james@chatshape.com.
What counts as a chatbot generation?
Anytime you add web sources and click 'Generate Bot from Sources,' a new chatbot link is created. This action counts as one chatbot generation towards your plan limit.
What counts as one message?
One message is defined as any text you send to the chatbot that subsequently receives a response from the AI.
Can I upgrade my plan after getting a lower tier?
Yes, you can upgrade your plan for the next month at any time. For immediate upgrades, email james@chatshape.com for assistance.
How do I know how many characters are in my sources total?
When creating a bot by crawling a website, the character count is shown after clicking 'Crawl Site'. For the Chrome extension, refresh 'Web Sources' after adding them to see the count.
