The Tübingen AI Center is a hub for European AI, hosted by the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen in cooperation with the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems. It focuses on AI research, education, and support for AI start-ups. The center comprises machine learning research groups with PhD students and Postdocs. It collaborates with various institutions like the University of Tübingen, Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, and Cyber Valley. It is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts Baden-Württemberg.

Lecturer in Technical Computer Science (m/f/d; Grade A13; permanent)

Several years of relevant professional experience.
Proven excellence in teaching foundational computer science subjects.
Other Requirements:
Strong proficiency in both written and spoken German (C2) and English for course instruction.
The application must include a detailed teaching concept that addresses specific ideas for improving teaching in the computer science degree programs at the University of Tübingen as well as new and innovative forms of teaching.
Responsibilities:
Teaching 12 semester hours (SWS) per semester, including at least one large foundational course in Computer Science for the bachelor’s program at the University of Tübingen. This includes topics in technical computer science (e.g. digital technology, chip design, computer architectures, hardware/software codesign, parallel architectures, operating systems).
Innovating and improving teaching through new formats and continual revision based on evaluations.
Supporting Bachelor's and Master's courses in the field of computer engineering.
Participation in collaborative research projects within the Tübingen AI Center.
Conducting independent research and possibly leading third-party funded projects.

Oversee and advance our AI-focused HPC and cloud infrastructure.
Ensure reliability, scalability, and high availability of computing resources.

Experience in managing complex and new projects, ideally with a focus on technology innovation
Other Requirements:
Strong written and verbal command in English and German (C1 level or higher)
Strong communication and organizational skills; we work with diverse teams and cultures
Responsibilities:
Development and implementation of effective mechanisms to support technology transfer, education, entrepreneurship and societal impact of AI.
Establishing and overseeing connections with stakeholders from public, academic and private sectors, including coordinating and collecting strategic advice and feedback
Organizing network building activities, workshops, social events, conferences and coding schools
Representing the AI Center’s Tech Transfer activities in meetings, conferences and public relation activities
Supporting activities in technology transfer, entrepreneurship, and new initiatives at the Tübingen AI Center, alongside educational programs for university students, researchers, and industry partners
