Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of software development experience.

  • 3+ years of transactional experience in a law firm or corporate environment

  • Experience and/or interest in project management to establish or improve processes and streamline legal team efforts with existing workflows in the company

  • Experience building and deploying a relevant ML application in a practical or academic research setting

  • At least one first-authored publication making extensive use of ML

Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge of modern deep learning and natural language processing techniques.

  • Strong software engineering skills, particularly around building performant systems and debugging.

  • Experience with Python and PyTorch.

  • Familiarity with software using container technologies (e.g. Docker) to deploy web-based services.

  • Proficiency in technology transactions, including software and IP licensing

  • Self-starter: Does not need daily directions or close supervision to make decisions

  • Skilled in working with ambiguity

  • Start-up mentality; adaptable, can pivot quickly

  • Comfortable identifying and solving for risks

  • Ability to adjust rapidly to new strategies and approaches for building support in a fast-moving environment

  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills: polished, concise, catered messages to different audiences

  • Ability to build strong relationships with leaders at all levels to obtain successful outcomes and move the business forward

  • Google Suite product experience

  • Ability to work on complex issues where problems are not clearly defined and where fundamental principles do not fully apply

  • Substantial experience building and deploying a relevant ML application in a practical or academic research setting

  • Fluent in Python and collaborative coding practices

  • Demonstrated excellent communications skills

  • Formal training and/or practical experience with physically-based atmospheric, oceanic, or related model development

  • Previously held a professional or post-doctoral position using your machine learning skills

  • Formal graduate-level ML coursework
