Research Engineer, OLMo
Ai2 is a non-profit AI research institute focused on open models, data, and real-world impact.
Benefits:

Experience Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years of software development experience.
3+ years of transactional experience in a law firm or corporate environment
Experience and/or interest in project management to establish or improve processes and streamline legal team efforts with existing workflows in the company
Experience building and deploying a relevant ML application in a practical or academic research setting
At least one first-authored publication making extensive use of ML
Other Requirements:
Knowledge of modern deep learning and natural language processing techniques.
Strong software engineering skills, particularly around building performant systems and debugging.
Experience with Python and PyTorch.
Familiarity with software using container technologies (e.g. Docker) to deploy web-based services.
Proficiency in technology transactions, including software and IP licensing
Self-starter: Does not need daily directions or close supervision to make decisions
Skilled in working with ambiguity
Start-up mentality; adaptable, can pivot quickly
Comfortable identifying and solving for risks
Ability to adjust rapidly to new strategies and approaches for building support in a fast-moving environment
Excellent presentation and facilitation skills: polished, concise, catered messages to different audiences
Ability to build strong relationships with leaders at all levels to obtain successful outcomes and move the business forward
Google Suite product experience
Ability to work on complex issues where problems are not clearly defined and where fundamental principles do not fully apply
Substantial experience building and deploying a relevant ML application in a practical or academic research setting
Fluent in Python and collaborative coding practices
Demonstrated excellent communications skills
Formal training and/or practical experience with physically-based atmospheric, oceanic, or related model development
Previously held a professional or post-doctoral position using your machine learning skills
Formal graduate-level ML coursework

Experience Requirements:
6+ years developing highly available software in a professional setting
Other Requirements:
Proficiency in Golang, Python, SQL, shell scripting and linux server administration
A strong understanding of running containerized workloads (Docker)
Experience debugging live systems
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS)
Excellent writing and collaboration skills
