Education Requirements:

Other Requirements:

• Experience working with neural networks, Tensorflow and/or PyTorch

Responsibilities:

• Apply and extend the Helm proprietary algorithmic toolkit for unsupervised learning and perception problems at scale

• Carefully execute development and maintenance of tools used for deep learning experiments designed to provide new functionality for customers or address relevant corner cases in the system as a whole

• Work closely with software and autonomous vehicle engineers to deploy algorithms on internal and customer vehicle platforms

Experience Requirements:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience developing vehicle control systems in the autonomous vehicle or ADAS industry

Other Requirements:

• Expertise implementing real-time optimal control strategies (MPC or iLQR) for vehicle trajectory tracking, with proven on-vehicle implementation experience

• Experience addressing real-world controls challenges, including sensor noise, system latencies, and state estimation uncertainty

• Track record of developing and validating vehicle dynamics models through system identification and data-driven approaches

• Strong theoretical foundation in control theory, optimization, and vehicle dynamics, with practical application experience

Responsibilities:

• Partner with perception and planning teams to architect, build, and test an AI-first autonomous driving platform for urban environments

• Design and implement robust vehicle control systems for trajectory tracking and execution, with a focus on real-time performance and reliability

• Develop and validate vehicle dynamics models through system identification and data analysis, driving continuous improvement in control system performance

• Create and execute comprehensive validation strategies across simulation and real-world testing environments

Experience Requirements:

• 5+ years of safe and professional driving experience

Other Requirements:

• Familiarity with Linux; ideally you have experience working with PCs

• Basic understanding of electro-mechanics is highly preferred; basic understanding of wiring systems

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational and verbal/written communication skills

• Self-motivated, goal oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment

• Ability and willingness to travel

• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no gaps in drivers license for 5 years

• Must currently reside in the San Francisco Bay Area

• Ability to pass a drug screen

• Able to work evenings and/or weekends when necessary

• CDL is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Be available and comfortable to drive 80% of working hours (25% of this will be driving at night).

• Navigate urban areas as well as highway driving.

• Support test activities including vehicle preparation, driving the autonomous vehicle, tear-down and data collection.

• Perform support and testing while monitoring and validating data.

• Conduct hardware troubleshooting for electro-mechanical functions.
