FAQs
How is multichannel billed?
Each channel is transcribed separately. Total cost is single-channel cost multiplied by number of channels. If multichannel is not enabled, Deepgram converts to mono and bills as one channel.
What's the difference between Nova, Enhanced and Base models?
Nova offers the best accuracy/cost balance. Enhanced excels with uncommon words. Base provides solid accuracy/cost balance. Some languages only support Enhanced/Base.
Which file types can you transcribe?
We support over 40 audio and video formats.
How does billing work?
Purchase credit upfront with a credit card. Credit is deducted as you use the API. Pay-as-you-go credit never expires. Growth plan credits expire after 1 year unless renewed.
What unit of time is billed, minutes or seconds?
Deepgram bills by the second of audio.
Can you transcribe live streaming audio?
Yes, we have the fastest real-time transcription with under 300ms latency.
Can Deepgram transcribe real-time conversations?
Yes! Our streaming API offers low latency, returning transcripts incrementally.
What happens if I run out of credit before my Growth plan expires?
If you have a saved credit card, you can continue using the API with a 10% overage fee, billed monthly. This is still less than Pay As You Go rates. You can renew or upgrade your plan at any point to prevent an overage fee.
What languages do you support?
We support 30+ languages for Speech to Text and English for Text to Speech.
How many seats do I get?
We bill based on usage, not users. Add as many team members as you like!
Can I self-host Deepgram?
Yes, our Enterprise plan offers self-hosted deployments.
Are the Audio Intelligence features affected by the model I select?
Audio Intelligence features aren't dependent on the model, but are affected by the transcript. Use the most accurate model for best results.
Is streaming available for Deepgram TTS Aura?
Audio output streaming is available. Text input streaming will be available soon.
How can I increase my concurrency and requests per minute for Aura TTS?
Higher concurrency and requests per minute are available. Contact sales.
Is voice cloning available for TTS Aura?
Voice cloning is not currently available for Aura, but we are exploring it.
