What is workload?
Workload aggregates the server resources needed to host, run, and scale apps built on Bubble. The amount of workload an app consumes is measured in workload units (WU). It's a usage-based pricing metric.
How much workload will I need?
It depends on various factors. Start with a Free plan to assess your needs, as it provides enough workload to begin. Mobile and web apps share the same backend, so workload usage is cumulative.
Can I cap the amount of workload my app uses?
Yes, you can disable overages anytime to prevent your app from using more than your plan's included workload units, plus any purchased add-ons.
What are my options if I need more workload?
You can purchase a workload tier for additional units or pay for overages. Free and Agency plans cannot subscribe to tiers or enable overages, as they are for development.
Do I need a plan for each app?
Plans are purchased at the project level, with each project supporting Mobile apps, Web apps, or both.
Will I get notified before I’m charged for workload overages?
Yes, you will receive email notifications at 75% and 100% of your available workload units, indicating when overages will begin.
What are the add-ons I can purchase separate from what comes in the plans?
Add-ons include workload tiers (for Starter, Growth, Team plans), additional file storage ($3 per 100 GB/month), and plugin subscriptions.
What's the difference between a native mobile app vs web app?
Native mobile apps (iOS/Android) are optimized for mobile, access device features, and run on React Native. Web apps run in browsers with limited device access.
When do I need a paid mobile plan?
A free plan is for building. A paid plan is necessary for deploying a live version of your app for testing with Apple Test Flight/Google Play and publishing to app stores.
What's the advantage of a Mobile + Web plan?
A Mobile + Web plan allows apps to share the same backend, database, workflows, and API connections, eliminating duplicate development work for web, iOS, and Android.
