Is the Free Plan really free? Will it be free forever?

Yes, it really is free! It’s not a trial and it’s free forever. Bito’s Free Plan comes with 20 AI requests per day, the ability to handle requests in many spoken and coding languages, the use of templates, and many other features. We will continue to improve this plan, and you will never have to upgrade to a paid plan.

What are the limits of the Free Plan?

On the Free Plan, you get limited access (20 AI requests per day) to GPT-4o mini and similar models. On the 10x plan, you get 600 GPT-4o requests per month, unlimited access to GPT-4o mini and similar models. Bito chooses the model we think will provide the best combination of speed and quality for you.

If you have a Free plan with so many features, there must be some catch. How do you make money then?

There is no catch. We provide Bito free of charge because it helps drive usage and awareness of Bito and some of our users do upgrade to our paid plans, maybe even you! You might even introduce Bito to your colleagues at work. But until then, please go nuts on our Free plan. Many other great services on the web such as Gmail or Postman or Snyk also have Free forever plans.

What does it mean “GPT-4o mini and similar models” and “GPT-4o and Similar Best in Class AI” models?

In our Free Plan, Bito provides you access to GPT-4o mini and other similar models. Bito chooses which model to use based on the task you are performing, and what will provide the best speed and quality of output. In our Paid plans you have access to the best AI models such GPT-4o, Claude Sonnet 3.5 and other frontier models.

How do additional requests work on the 10x plan?

On the 10x plan, you get unlimited access to GPT-4o mini. Also, you also get 600 requests monthly included for the GPT-4o model and other best in class models. When you exceed your 600 GPT-4o requests, each request counts as an “additional request” and you are billed at the end of the month. For example, if you had 650 GPT-4 requests in the month, your first 600 are included, and then your additional 50 would cost you $1.5 more for the month.

What counts as an additional request in the 10x plan?

When you exceed your 600 GPT-4o requests, each request counts as an “additional request”. This is each request, not each chat session. For example, if you have 4 requests in one chat session that would cost US$0.12 (4 x $0.03 per request).

When will I be billed?

When you sign-up for a paid plan, you will be billed for the current month. For example, if you signed up on July 10th, you would be charged for the month of July, pro-rated for the two-thirds period of July you are actually signed up (July 10 – July 30th). Then, in early August, you would be charged for any additional requests you had in July (see above if you have questions about “additional requests”) and also charged your base monthly fee for the month of August for your 10x plan. To continue the example, in early September you would be charged for any additional requests you had in August, and charged for the month of September.

I want to add more team members to Bito. Can I purchase additional users?

Yes, you can do this. Please login at https://alpha.bito.ai and if you are an admin you can invite more users or add them to your account. You will be charged based on what plan they are subscribed too, all users in a given workspace must be on the same plan.

Will I be charged for the length or complexity of my AI requests?

You are NOT charged different amounts for the length and complexity of AI requests. All requests are charged the same price.

For understanding my codebase functionality, what is the difference between the Free plan and the 10x plan?

The Free plan allows you to try out Bito’s capabilities to understand your codebase, but you are limited to the use of GPT-4o mini, 2 repos per month, and those repos cannot be larger than 10MB in total size, including code and non-code artifacts (such as images) in the repo. On the 10x plan, Bito can index and search across repos of unlimited size. All of the indexes are stored locally on your machine, and Bito never stores your code on its machines or uses it for training.

What are the usage limits for AI Code Completions on the free plan and the 10X plan?

On Bito’s free plan, users can utilize up to 50 AI Code Completions each month, with a daily limit of 7 completions. In contrast, subscribers to the 10X plan enjoy unlimited access Code Completions. Code Completions have 2 different flavors. The first flavor is that as you start typing a line of code, Bito will use AI to automatically and quickly complete your line of code. Bito will take into account parts of your current codebase, so it knows your functions, libraries, and objects. The second form of Code Completions will allow Bito to complete entire blocks of code, functions, or classes based on a comment in your code file you provide Bito.

Can I purchase features a-la-carte?

Sorry, but you can’t purchase features a-la-carte. We’ve carefully designed our plans to align with different phases of your software development journey. If you want a specific feature, there’s a good chance you’ll benefit from what’s on the next tier up. That being said, our pricing plans are relatively new, and we will continuously review them. Please reach out to support@bito.ai if you have any suggestions.

Can I pay annually and get a discount?

Today, we only offer monthly plans. Because our paid plans are new, we want to get feedback, before offering annual plans. Please reach out to support@bito.ai if you have any suggestions.

Can I cancel at any time?

Absolutely, you can cancel, downgrade, or upgrade your plan at any time. If you do cancel your paid plan will be valid until the end of the month. We do not offer refunds.

What data does Bito collect?

In a nutshell, Bito does not store anything about your code or use any of your data for AI model training. We do capture metadata about your AI requests, such as that you ran a request to create unit tests. We also collect information about your usage of the service, such as how many requests you made and when, and your personal data like your email address and name to allow us to manage your access to the service.
