About
MacGPT is a desktop application designed to integrate ChatGPT seamlessly into your macOS workflow. It offers multiple modes of access, including a Global feature for quick pop-up conversations, an Inline feature to bring ChatGPT directly into text fields for automated typing, and a Menubar option for fast access to either the ChatGPT website or native API. Users can easily copy full conversations and even engage in 'Conversation Mode' for voice-to-voice interaction without typing. MacGPT supports both ChatGPT Plus accounts and personal OpenAI API keys for enhanced functionality. It's compatible with macOS Monterey and Ventura. An accompanying iPhone app, GeePeeTee, is also available for on-the-go access, supporting API keys and multiple conversations.

Can I use MacGPT with a ChatGPT Plus account?
Yes you can. Just login with your credentials and you should be able to access the GPT Plus features.
How can I use MacGPT with my OpenAI API key?
You can use MacGPT through the ChatGPT API for a nicer and faster experience. To use the native mode you will need to get your own OpenAI API key and connect a credit card to it.
MacGPT Inline doesn't work in [Insert App Name Here]!?
I'm aware that the MacGPT Inline feature does not work in some apps (Sublime Text, Notion, WhatsApp for example). I'm looking into ways to solve this.
I added my API key and want to use GPT-4 but I get an error.
Currently the GPT-4 API is only available through the API after signing up for a waiting list. Please sign up through the OpenAI website and you should have access in a few days. Sign up here.
I'm getting an error that my macOS version is not high enough to run MacGPT.
MacGPT is only supported on macOS Monterey and Ventura because it is using some of the latest APIs. Sorry about that!
I'm having trouble connecting in the app with a proxy turned on.
MacGPT connects directly to the OpenAI servers so I can't control what they do in terms of blocking proxy servers, sorry.
