What's included in a Type Pro account?
A paid plan unlocks all of Type's AI-powered writing and editing features, including access to GPT-4o and Claude 3.7 Sonnet. AI usage limits are significantly higher in paid plans, and reset every month.
Are there any limits on GPT-4o or Claude 3.7 Sonnet usage?
There are monthly usage limits in place due to the cost and compute requirements of modern LLMs. Usage limits are a common practice for AI products like Type and most users will not hit them.
What happens if I hit my monthly usage limits?
Most users will not hit the monthly usage limit, but if you do you can purchase additional credits inside the app. These additional credits never expire.
What are Type's Speed and Power modes?
Type offers two AI modes to help you write: Speed and Power. In Speed mode, your selected AI will respond and generate almost instantly, but the output quality may be lower.
Can AI make mistakes?
Absolutely. While AI models are incredibly powerful and can produce high-quality content, they are not perfect. These models can sometimes generate inaccurate information, misinterpret context, or produce biased outputs, a concept known as "hallucinating."
How do I make AI-generated content sound more human?
There's no quick way to make entirely-AI-generated content more human. Currently, AI struggles with replicating human experience, feeling, cultural references, opinions, and other forms of emotionally nuanced thought
How do I organize my Type documents?
By default, all of your Type documents will appear in the “Draft” folder. You can create your own folders by tapping the + icon next to Folders.
How do I create a new document?
Just click + New Document or tap the A key. New documents always appear in your Drafts folder until you move them somewhere else.
How do I get Type to learn my writing style?
Type automatically mimics the formatting, voice, and knowledge that’s already in your current document.
How do I get Type to continue writing something I've started?
Type has inline AI commands that let you generate text like sentences and paragraphs directly at your cursor. You can think of these commands as a more powerful version of autocomplete.
Can Type help me rewrite something?
Yes! Type is great for rewriting content. Type lets you highlight text, have the AI rewrite it, and accept or reject a rewrite directly inline in your document.
How do I write with GPT-4o or Claude 3.7 Sonnet?
Tap the lightning bolt icon in your document toolbar to turn on Power Mode. When you do, Type's AI will use the most powerful model available – currently, GPT-4o or Claude 3.7 Sonnet.
Can I upload or import documents into Type?
You can import a file or URL you'd like to edit inside of Type by tapping the "Import doc" button in an empty document.
How do I export my document?
You can export a document to PDF, .DOCX, HTML, and Markdown by tapping the three dots in the document toolbar, then "Export document."
How do I share a document with someone?
You can export a document by tapping the three dots in the document toolbar, then "Export document."
