Text With Apps is a suite of AI-powered chatbot apps that lets users chat with various historical, literary, and religious figures. The apps use AI to simulate conversations with characters such as Jesus, historical figures, and famous authors. A premium subscription unlocks unlimited access, an ad-free experience, the ability to have multiple conversations with each character and organize them into threads, the ability to send longer messages, and expanded conversation memory. The app is available on Apple, Android, Mac, and PC devices and is also accessible via a web app. It supports multiple languages and uses a GPT-4o Mini model (as of July 2024) for its chatbots. Users can also request new characters to be added to the app.

FAQs
Is the app free?
Yes! Although the full selection of authors and unlimited messaging are only available to Premium subscribers, the app is free to download and use on all eligible devices.
Can I read books directly in the app?
No, this app is not an e-book reader. It is designed for interactive conversations with literary authors based on their public domain writings and documented statements. All quotes provided are limited to short, fair-use excerpts from the public domain.
Why aren't there more modern authors in the app?
The app currently focuses on authors whose works are in the public domain, which typically includes authors who died before 1923. We are working to expand the selection of authors in the app over time.
Can I chat in any language?
Yes! The AI chatbots can speak and understand almost any language. We are working on expanding the UI translations in the app over time. The app currently natively supports English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Greek, and Polish.
What benefits do Premium subscribers receive?

On what platforms is the app available?
The app is now available on all major platforms, including Apple, Android, Mac, and PC. You can also use the app directly in your browser on any device.
What minimum versions of iOS and macOS are supported?
You need a device running iOS or iPadOS 16 or later, or macOS 13 (Ventura) or later. Make sure you update your device to the latest version of iOS or macOS for the best experience. If you have an older device, you can still use our web app directly in your browser.
What is the difference between the iOS app and the web app?
* The iOS app is a native app that you can download from the App Store. It can be used without signing in or creating an account. * The web app is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that you can use directly in any supported web browser on any device like PCs or Android phones. On mobile phones and many browsers, it can be installed on your device and used like a native app. You must sign up for a free account to use it. In terms of functionality, there are no significant differences between the apps. You have access to the same range of characters and features in both apps. Payment for Premium subscriptions is handled differently on each platform, however.
I am a Premium user on iOS. Can I use the web app?
Yes! Since version 2.0 of our Apple app, you can sign in to the same online account that you can use in the web app. Note that you must sign up for an account to use the web app, and you must use the same credentials you used for your Apple account. Your subscriptions will be transferred between platforms, and you will have access to the same Premium features on both.
How do I cancel my subscription on my iPhone or iPad?
You can cancel your subscription at any time by going to the "Settings" app on your device, tapping on your name, and then tapping on Subscriptions. From there, you can select and cancel the "Text with" app subscription.
How do I cancel my subscription in the Android/Windows/Web app?
Go to the "Settings" page in the app and click on the "Manage Subscription" button. This will take you to the payment portal where you can manage your subscription.
I don't want to commit to another subscription. Can I get Premium features without a subscription?
Yes! You can now purchase a lifetime membership for the app as a one-time payment, which gives you access to all current and future Premium features without the need for a recurring subscription. This option can be purchased within our mobile apps or on our website.
Are my conversations kept private?
While we need to store your conversations on our servers to provide the service, we do not share your conversations with third parties. Your conversations are stored securely and privately. You can also delete all your stored personal data directly from the app at any time.
Can I organize my conversations?
Yes! Premium users can now organize their conversations into threads, making it easier to keep track of multiple conversations with different characters. Start new chats, freely switch between them, or give them a custom title. This feature is now available on all platforms from version 3.0 (subscription required).
What AI model do you use for the chatbots?
As of July 2024, we use the latest version of the GPT-4o Mini model for our chatbots. This model was trained on a wide variety of data sources to enable the most accurate and engaging conversations. Premium subscribers have access to a much larger context window, enabling deeper and more meaningful conversations with the characters by expanding the context available to the chatbots.
