Does my data contribute to any public or private training data sets?

Your data is yours. We don't use it to train our models unless you specifically opt in. We only work with providers that do not train their models on your data. You can find out more about how we process data in our [Privacy policy](/privacy/).

How is my data stored, handled, and protected?

We follow GDPR data protection rules and are in the process of attaining SOC2 Type I certification. Currently, all the long-term data is stored in the EU and is encrypted at rest using AES 256. Data is processed in the EU and USA (due to our third party suppliers). We have privacy tools that allow you to lock or delete your transcripts after 24 hours of a meeting and to delete recordings automatically after they've been processed. It's up to you what level of security you choose. Most data processed by our providers is deleted immediately after processing with the maximum of retention of 7 days. Do I need a Google account to sign in?

No, you don't need a Google account to sign in. You can sign in via Google, or create an account using your email and password. To link your calendar, you can use either Google Calendar or Microsoft Teams Calendar but you can also add meetings manually.

What languages does Nyota support?

Nyota supports transcription in over 100 languages. With certain settings you can even use multiple languages in a single meeting, and your notes will always be provided in English. The best level of transcription and feature set is available for the following languages: * English * Spanish * French * German * Italian * Portuguese * Dutch * Hindi * Japanese * Chinese * Finnish * Korean * Polish * Russian * Turkish * Ukrainian * Vietnamese

Will my team be uncomfortable with the calls being recorded?

We thought about this a lot when we started Nyota, so we did a lot of user research and put privacy at the forefront of the product. The vast majority of people (90%) said this wouldn't change how open they are with their managers as long as they can pause the recording and access the transcript. From the feedback we've got we believe that it takes only one meeting to get used to Nyota. After the first meeting, people forget about Nyota's presence on calls and continue to speak openly. Finally, we have implemented privacy controls in place so you can pause the recording, kick Nyota out of the call, or redact the transcripts. On top of that we only keep transcripts open for 24 hours so the managers can take notes.
