How do I use Gizmo?
Type information into Gizmo, it creates quizzes. Complete quizzes daily for a few minutes to reinforce information for long-term memory.
Is it free?
Yes, create unlimited cards and decks, and do unlimited quizzing for free. A subscription avoids a 10-minute wait after losing 15 lives.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes, Gizmo has both iOS and Android mobile apps available.
How do the green words work?
Gizmo highlights words in green that it will quiz you on. You can click on them to change the selected words.
What are the extra questions?
Gizmo uses machine learning to suggest extra questions for efficient memory testing. Thumbs up to include, thumbs down or ignore to exclude.
Can I organize my cards into folders in Gizmo?
Yes, you can use decks and subdecks. Create new decks/subdecks from the Add or Decks page.
Can I see how much of a deck I remember?
Yes, go to the deck and click Score to see the percentage of cards you've recently answered correctly.
Is my content safe and secure?
Yes, anything you add to Gizmo is stored securely forever with a free account. You can download your cards from the Profile page.
Can I export my cards?
Yes, there is a button to export all your cards on the Profile page when you're logged in.
How do you decide which questions to ask each day?
We use a mixture of machine learning and learning science to ask questions in the most efficient way for your memory.
Does Gizmo use spaced repetition?
Yes, it uses spaced repetition to ask you about your cards in a way most efficient for your memory.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancel iOS subscriptions in device settings, Android in Google Play store. On website, go to Settings > Manage subscription and confirm cancellation.
Can I change the language?
The interface is English, but AI works in any language. Contact support if imports/lessons are being translated.
How do I private decks, or display them on my profile?
In Settings, set new decks to private. For existing decks, click Share on the deck, then Settings to change individual permissions (private/public).
How do I archive, delete and restore decks?
On the website, archive decks via deck settings. View archived decks to restore or permanently delete them. Not available on mobile.
