DCON (Deep Learning Contest) is a unique business creation contest for Kosen (College of Technology) students. Participants leverage their cultivated "monozukuri" (manufacturing) skills and deep learning technology to create innovative products and services that address societal challenges. The competition judges the "business viability" of these projects, with active venture capitalists evaluating the corporate value. DCON provides comprehensive support throughout the process, including educational programs, business plan and presentation guidance from entrepreneurs, and post-contest startup and commercialization assistance. Key features include the "DCON Startup Support Fund," offering up to 2 million JPY per company for up to five companies annually, along with management consulting and back-office support, aiming to cultivate future innovators and entrepreneurs in Japan by combining AI with hardware development.
