About
Adbhut India, meaning 'Amazing' or 'Incredible' India, envisions a future where the country fully leverages AI to enhance the lives of all its citizens. This initiative aims for AI to be equitably accessible and instrumental in addressing India's critical challenges related to access, productivity, and expertise bottlenecks. People+ai, in collaboration with various partners and volunteers, is dedicated to achieving this vision by tackling four main challenges: identifying and demonstrating meaningful AI use-cases for India; bridging infrastructure gaps concerning data availability, compute costs, and effective model evaluation for the Indian context; addressing talent gaps through re-skilling initiatives and fostering deep AI research and engineering talent; and resolving ecosystem-specific issues, including policy development and community building. To implement these solutions, Adbhut India seeks to establish a collective of key AI stakeholders, including government bodies, companies, researchers, educational institutions, and citizens, recognizing that ecosystem-level challenges necessitate ecosystem-level solutions. The initiative invites contributions via Github pull requests or direct feedback via email to further develop this ongoing work.
