Lead Engineer - Drone Design and Build

Education Requirements:

  • MEng or equivalent degree (nice to have)

Experience Requirements:

  • Expert-level proficiency in at least one MCAD package (e.g. NX, SolidWorks, Fusion 360)

  • Strong mechanical engineering background with design for manufacture knowledge

  • Experience leading or owning end-to-end hardware systems

  • Experience defining or scaling engineering processes from prototype to operation

  • Python (or similar) capability for data analysis

Other Requirements:

  • PCB design or EMC design experience

  • Background in robotics, autonomous systems, or complex electromechanical products

  • Experience supporting the transition from R&D into production

Responsibilities:

  • Owning the mechanical and electrical architecture of the drone platform

  • Leading transition from prototype to repeatable low-volume production

  • Guiding design and integration of sensors, electronics, structures, and networking

  • Translating operational feedback into technical priorities and design improvements

  • Defining and overseeing hardware testing programmes
