Education Requirements:

• Master's degree or PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, immunology or related field

• Participating in brainstorms for new product and application ideas

• Producing and characterizing wild type and designed proteins

• Suggesting and developing analytical assays for protein characterization

• Developing and optimizing medium and high throughput workflows for protein expression and characterization

• Keeping detailed and accurate records of all lab work

Responsibilities:

• Identifying companies and groups within the companies that would benefit from new protein development collaboration with Biomatter

• Working closely with our Lead Research Specialists to identify and reach potential prospects

• Booking discovery calls with potential clients and helping to nurture the relationships with them

• Constantly updating the CRM and following-up on the existing pipeline

• Helping to prepare for and/or participating in various conferences and business missions

Education Requirements:

• M.Sc. in bioinformatics, structural biology, or other fields related to computational protein engineering

Experience Requirements:

• 3 years of industry/academia experience

Other Requirements:

• Skilled at rapidly analyzing scientific literature on new enzymes

• Good understanding of protein behavior _in vitro_

• Comfortable with popular protein sequence and structure analysis command-line tools, and Unix systems

• Comfortable with Python and data analysis

• Knowledge of collaborative software development best practices

• Excellent communication, reporting, and writing skills

• Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams

Responsibilities:

• Working in a team to engineer new enzymes by applying in-house developed tools

• Supporting the development of new workflows and algorithms

• Participating in brainstorms, proposing ideas for novel tools or applications

• Critically evaluating data generated by the experimental group and incorporating this knowledge into the design of improved protein variants
