FAQs
What happens if I use more than my generations or ads quota?
If you go over your quota, you'll be charged on a per-generation or per-ad basis at the end of your billing period, at the price set by the plan you're currently on.
What is your cancellation or refund policy?
Your plan’s quota refers to the number of generations you make or ads you receive from your Pencil creative team.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards. For annual subscriptions we can also accept payment via bank transfers.
Can I activate/deactivate brand workspaces?
Yes. if you need more brand workspaces, you can add a new brand workspace at the rate of your current plan and your subscription period will begin immediately. If you'd like multiple new workspaces, please contact us so we can discuss the right plan for you at support@trypencil.com.
What languages are supported?
We currently support generating text in over 30 markets and languages including India - Hindi, Indonesia - Indonesian, Japan - Japanese, Malaysia - Malay (Bahasa),Taiwan - Trad. Chinese, S. Korea - Korean, Vietnam - Vietnamese, China PRC - Simp. Chinese, Hong Kong - Trad. How does Pencil Work?
Pencil takes in your branding, assets and data - and generates static and video ad ideas predicted to perform. Pencil uses a pipeline of AI models aggregated from the best providers in the industry - OpenAI, Google, Stability and others. These models can help you discover insights & audiences, write copy, edit video, match copy and visuals to create persuasive narratives, select channel-best-practice templates and layouts, apply branding and make predictions. All of this happens automatically in less than 2-3 minutes per ad. When you first sign up for Pencil you'll connect your ad accounts and upload your assets as part of onboarding in order to quickly generate a first batch of ads. Our team tries to review as many new workspaces as we can and will reach out if we think we can help you set up your workspace differently to get the best results.
What kinds of Inputs do I need to use Pencil?
Pencil requires the correct inputs to generate ads. If your inputs are low quality, your outputs will be low quality. Required inputs include: 1. A brand kit including logos, fonts, colors and a short description of your brand and products. 2. Assets including product images, lifestyle images, product video or UGC video.Images and video must not contain any text or "supers" as this text will interfere with Pencil's automated video editing functionality.
Will my data be private and safe?
Yes. Please review our terms of service, privacy policy and AI ethics policy which is always updated at the bottom of our website.
What happens when my subscription ends?
When your subscription ends, you will lose access to your workspaces and all charges will stop at the end of your billing period. If you want to restart a cancelled subscription, just email us at support@trypencil.com.
What Outputs does Pencil generate?
Pencil can generate both static and video (6s, 10s and 15s) ads. Each ad is automatically available in 5 aspect ratios - 1:1, 9:16, 4:5, 16:9, 1.91:1 This means that Pencil's outputs can be used on pretty much any digital channel including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Amazon, Pinterest, Snap etc. You're able to export your generated ad ideas directly into your ad account. You can also download your ad ideas as image (PNG) or video (MP4) files.
What happens if I don’t hit my ad quota?
Your quota is refreshed monthly and any unused quota rolls over indefinitely as long as you have an active Pencil subscription. Do note that if you cancel your Pencil account, you lose all accumulated quota.
How many ads can I receive at a time?
If you're on our Standard plan working with a human creative at Pencil to deliver your ads, we will deliver 4 ads every 24 hours up to a maximum of 80 ads in a 20 day working month. You can give us as many briefs as you like together with a prioritization and we'll work on them 4 ads at a time. Do note that any amend requests count towards your ad deliverable quota, or you are welcome to make amends directly inside the Pencil editor.
How many formats are included with each ad?
Pencil always generates creatives in multiple relevant formats for the channel or template you've selected - typically 5 formats per creative. If you're using our managed service, we'll deliver each ad creative in your quota in a maximum of 5 formats. If you need more, this will count as additional ad creatives from your quota.
