emdee.ai is an AI tool designed to assist users in assessing skin lesions by analyzing uploaded photos. Users take a well-lit close-up picture of a lesion using the app and submit it for AI assessment. The artificial intelligence underpinning emdee Skin has been trained on a vast amount of clinical cases, equivalent to multiple physicians' lifetime worth of data, and learns from decades of real clinical data with unerring histological results. The tool provides actionable tips for staying safe and healthy, strongly recommending visiting a doctor with the assessment. emdee Skin is programmed to recognize 12 known categories of skin conditions, including various forms of melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and actinic keratosis. It also offers an 'emdee Physician Console' for medical professionals, aimed at reducing false negatives and positives, and enhancing administrative and diagnostic processes by tracking skin changes over time. The self-improving neural net was developed by computer scientists at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE).
