Why does it take a while for my song to be processed?
Audio separation using AI is a computationally intensive and time-consuming task. The processing time may vary depending on the duration of the audio file. On average, the process can take anywhere from 1 to 3 minutes to complete.
Are there any limitations regarding the file upload?
Each uploaded file must be between 0.1 and 200 MB in size, and the maximum audio duration is 20 minutes. All common audio formats are supported, including mp3, ogg, flac, wav, and aiff. Users who use the free version of the service can only upload a maximum of two songs per day, and their songs are cropped to a random 15-second snippet before being processed by the AI.
What exactly is the 'Other' track?
The 'Other' track contains the audio information that remains after all the instruments and vocals have been removed from your song.
Can other users access my songs?
No, each user can only access their own songs.
How long will my songs be available after the upload?
Your uploaded songs and the processed tracks generated from them are automatically deleted after about one day. Please use the download function of our mixer to save your results beforehand and prevent any data loss.
Is there also a SplitMySong app for mobile devices?
While there is no native Android nor iOS app available yet, you can still install the SplitMySong Web App on your mobile device or desktop. This will add it to your launcher, allowing it to be run like any other installed app. The installation depends on your browser and operating system. How do I get the best experience in the mixer?
For optimal performance in the mixer, especially when working with longer songs or large lossless audio files, we recommend using a PC or Mac instead of mobile devices. These devices typically have more powerful hardware, which can improve the overall experience.
Why does the mixer process my song everytime I adjust delay or pitch?
Unlike the other mixer functions, the tempo and pitch changes cannot be made during playback because they are too computationally intensive. Therefore, some dedicated processing is required.
Why are the instruments and vocals not perfectly separated?
While our AI is powerful, it is important to note that it is technically impossible to exactly reconstruct individual tracks from a mixed song. Our AI tries to separate the tracks as accurately as possible, but the success of the separation process can vary depending on the song. Effects, noise, poor audio quality, and instruments unknown to the AI model can make separation more challenging. As a result, the results may not be perfect, but they could still be suitable for your intended use. We recommend trying our AI and mixer to see if the results meet your expectations.
Why does nothing happen when I try to download my files?
Please make sure to use one of the major web browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari to access our website. If you opened the website from an app such as Facebook Messenger, you may be using that app's own 'in-app browser', which has limited functionality and is not fully supported.
How do I export my mix in the highest possible quality?
Select the lossless file format 'wav' when exporting your mix using our mixer. If you want to convert your wav file to another format, you can use third-party software such as FFmpeg without introducing any loss of quality.
When will my credits be deducted from my account?
After each upload, you will be presented with an overview where you can review your account balance and the credits that will be due. Once you confirm this, the credits will be deducted from your account, and the processing will begin. However, if you cancel the submission, no credits will be deducted.
What happens to my unused credits?
On each billing day, your credits will be renewed for the next 30 days, and any unused credits from the previous month will expire.
How can I get more credits?
If you find yourself in need of more credits, you can upgrade to a Patron membership with a higher credit balance. When you upgrade, your current credit balance will be increased by the difference between your old and new membership. Please note that it may take up to 30 minutes for Patreon to process your upgrade and for the additional credits to be added to your account. If you prefer not to upgrade, you can simply wait until the next billing day when new credits will automatically be added to your account based on your current membership level.
How do I cancel my Patreon membership?
You may cancel anytime by following the steps outlined on the Patreon website. If you cancel, you retain your original membership access up to the next billing date, which is determined by your join date. You are not billed on the next billing date and lose membership access. If you rejoin before your original access has ended, you will keep your original billing date. If you cancel and rejoin after your original access has ended, you will be treated as a new Patron and your new join date will be your monthly billing date.
