Is Middleware free to use?
Yes, our free tier provides monthly limits to all three services, logs, metrics and traces, which is a great starting point for any team of any size.
Are there different pricing tiers?
Middleware offers three tiers: free, pay as you go, and custom. Free is a limited amount of usage monthly. Pay-as-you-go is a flat rate for data volume and best to get started. Contracted is for longer term commitments, retention rates and discounts.
How is the data usage calculated?
We measure your data on a daily basis, and per data type and source. For example, a 10GB per day in a 30 day month would be 300GB for the month. Note that this is based on the amount of data actually stored on Middleware, not necessarily everything that’s sent to the platform. Meaning you will not be charged for data that you decide to drop by using Middleware's data pipeline.

Is Middleware just a wrapper for Otel?
We leverage Otel as a framework for our agents because there is no point in creating another blackbox collector. That being said, we have built many components in our stack that handle the streaming, compression, storage, and querying, and of course a UI that brings it all together. We also support many other data collectors and origins like Prometheus, databases, etc. and are not restricted to type of data.
What are your data retention options?

What about data security?
Middleware works tirelessly to ensure the protection of customer data and is committed to continuous improvements to our information security management practices. We aim to ensure the appropriate confidentiality, privacy, integrity, and availability practices are maintained in accordance with the requirements of data security standards as outlined by the SOC2 Trust Service Principles. We ensure that its security commitments are well documented and illustrated to user entities through our website, contract agreement, or in a service level agreement. Can I cancel my account?
Yes, you can cancel anytime with the pay-as-you-go option. We keep your data for 30 days from the cancellation date so you can download them.
