Lifelight is a contactless technology that allows a mobile device to estimate blood pressure and pulse by using the device's built-in camera. It enables remote patient monitoring, scale, efficiency, and improved health outcomes. It takes blood pressure, pulse and respiration rate readings in 40 seconds. It is a CE Class I medical device, clinically validated with over 12,000 individuals across 8 clinical trials. Lifelight has potential for system-wide efficiencies, faster observation taking, and workforce transformation.

What is PPG & rPPG?
Photoplethysmography (PPG) is a non-invasive optical technique that detects blood volume changes in the microvascular tissue bed beneath the skin. Remote PPG (rPPG) is an evolution of PPG technology that no longer requires physical contact.
Why does Lifelight need to know a person’s age and height?
The user’s / patient’s age, height and sex are captured to help the Lifelight algorithm to accurately calculate systolic and diastolic blood pressure estimates.
Does Lifelight work on all skin types?
Yes, during our clinical trials, Lifelight was found to work on all skin types as dictated by the Fitzpatrick scale.
Is patient data retained by Lifelight?
No personally identifiable data is stored within Lifelight – even when integrated with Electronic Patient Records (EPR) a unique ‘test request ID’ token will be passed from the EPR to Lifelight.
How does Lifelight estimate Blood Pressure (BP)?
Through signal processing the rPPG waveform, we can select the features our algorithm needs to detect blood pressure. Our large clinical dataset, has allowed us to analyse the waveforms, their shape along with further features.
Is Lifelight suitable for paediatric use?
Lifelight is intended for spot-check estimates of adult patients. The solution is not currently intended for paediatrics, but children of 4 years plus form part of our clinical studies and paediatric use is on our product roadmap.
