DeepAffex® is a cloud-based platform developed by NuraLogix® that leverages Affective AI™ and Transdermal Optical Imaging™ (TOI) to assess physiological health. It allows users to measure and analyze human vital signs and other biosignals using just a standard selfie camera. The platform extracts facial blood-flow data from video streams, processes it using advanced signal processing and AI models in the DeepAffex® Cloud, and provides estimations of various health indicators. DeepAffex offers SDKs for mobile and desktop integration, and a Web Measurement Service for web applications, enabling developers to quickly add Affective AI capabilities. What is DeepAffex®?
DeepAffex® is NuraLogix's cloud-based platform for assessing physiological health that uses facial blood-flow data captured using Transdermal Optical Imaging™. DFX is an acronym for DeepAffex® that we sometimes in our documentation. DeepAffex® is for investigation use only.
What is Anura® Lite?
Anura® Lite is a wellness app powered by DeepAffex® that uses a phone's selfie camera to measure and keep a record of health indicators based on the blood flow in the face. You can download Anura® Lite from the iOS App Store or the Google Play Store. Anura® Lite is for investigation use only.
What is Transdermal Optical Imaging™?
Transdermal Optical Imaging™ (TOI) is an imaging technology by NuraLogix® that uses a digital camera and advanced image processing to extract facial blood-flow data from a human subject.
How does Transdermal Optical Imaging™ work?
TOI detects facial blood-flow from a selfie camera's video stream, sends encrypted data to DeepAffex® Cloud for AI analysis, which estimates biosignals and sends results back.
What is Affective Ai™?
Affective Ai™ refers to a computing device's ability to detect, measure, and analyze human physiological states affecting quality of life. DeepAffex® Cloud runs on Affective Ai™.

Can you restrict data storage on DeepAffex® to a region or a country?
Yes, the DeepAffex® Cloud is a connected mesh of distributed clusters hosted within specific geographic regions, allowing for regional data localization.
Why does TOI® need a face-tracker? Do you perform facial recognition?
TOI uses facial landmarks from a face-tracker to identify relevant regions of interest for blood-flow extraction. Facial recognition is not performed; the face-tracker is not used to identify the subject.
What kind of user information is needed during measurements and why? Can I measure without providing this information?
The DeepAffex® Cloud can use additional user info for enhanced accuracy. While possible to measure without it, it's not recommended as it affects certain biosignals.
What parts of a person's face should be visible during a measurement? Is it possible to measure with make-up, eyeglasses, caps, turbans, hijab, facial hair etc.?
For optimal results, major obstructions like caps, heavy jewelry, glasses, or heavy make-up should be removed. Facial hair may also affect face-tracker performance.
My measurement had four stars but it still failed. What could cause this?
Star Rating estimates optical quality, while signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) on the DeepAffex® Cloud depends on more factors, including blood-flow quality. A high Star Rating doesn't always guarantee high SNR.
