DB Pilot AI can help you write SQL queries by giving it instructions in English. It can also explain queries, debug errors with "Fix with AI", and convert between code and SQL, saving valuable time. You can get help without leaving your workflow with inline AI and @-mentions.
Can I try the AI assistant before I buy?
Yes, you can try the AI assistant for 20 messages before you buy. You'll need to provide your own API keys for AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google AI, etc.). See the documentation for more details.
Which operating systems are supported?
DB Pilot can be used on Mac (both M chip and Intel), with support for Linux and Windows coming soon.
Which databases are supported?
You can connect PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, MySQL, SQLite, chDB (local ClickHouse), and DuckDB databases. We're continuously adding support for more databases.
How is my data used and stored?
All app data is stored locally on your computer. Connection credentials, including sensitive information, are stored securely in your device's keychain. All database connectivity happens directly between your computer and the database server. We do not store any of your database data on our servers.
Can the AI assistant read my data?
No, the AI assistant cannot read your data. It knows which tables and columns exist in your database to assist you better, but it does not have access to any actual data stored in your database.
What are notebooks and how do they help?
Notebooks allow you to mix and match SQL, Python, text, and interactive tables & charts to explore data and build dashboards. They're perfect for iterative data exploration, combining data from multiple sources, and creating reproducible analyses.
What's the difference between subscription and one-time purchase?
The subscription ($20/month) includes all premium features and covers AI costs. The one-time purchase ($79) gives access to all premium features in app versions released within one year. For the one-time purchase, you need to provide your own API key for AI features.
