What is AIProxy for?
AIProxy is an abuse prevention backend for macOS, iOS, and visionOS apps. It helps ship AI-powered apps without worrying about API key theft or abuse. It uses certificate pinning, DeviceCheck verification, split key encryption, and rate limits for security.
How does AIProxy work?
AIProxy encrypts your key, storing half on its backend and giving you the other half. This prevents key theft, even if someone sniffs network requests. DeviceCheck tokens further secure your endpoint by ensuring requests are from legitimate devices and preventing token replay attacks.
What if someone steals my AIProxy key?
Your AIProxy key is useless alone; it's hardcoded in your client. We encrypt your key, storing only half on our backend, combining both parts to decrypt for requests.
What if someone uses my AIProxy endpoint?
AIProxy uses proxy rules to enable only necessary endpoints, Apple's DeviceCheck to verify requests, and guarantees one-time-use tokens to prevent replay attacks.
How does AIProxy handle scaling?
The proxy is deployed on AWS Lambda, allowing effortless horizontal scaling behind a load balancer.
How do I integrate with my iOS or Mac app?

What data does AIProxy collect?
AIProxy stores originating IP, HTTP status code, and response body (if >= 400), and request metadata, but *not* API secret keys or request headers containing keys.
How do you know if DeviceCheck is working?
When you make a request, check the Live Console in the dashboard to see the request and DeviceCheck status.
How do plans and pricing work?
When each tier is reached, we'll contact you for upgrade to the next paid tier, not immediately rate-limiting your app. Upgrade/downgrade via your account page.
Does AIProxy work with Android or web apps?
While possible, we currently lack client libraries for Android and web; you would need to build your own.
