What is workload?
Bubble has a usage-based pricing model, so users will only pay for the resources their app needs. Our mission is to make software development more accessible — Instead of requiring users to monitor various resources in a traditional tech stack built with code, we introduced a single metric: workload.
How much workload will I need?
The amount of workload an app needs depends on a variety of factors. If you’re new to Bubble, the best way to assess your workload needs is to get started on a Free plan. From within your free app, you will be able to see how the activities unique to your app contribute to workload usage.
Can I cap the amount of workload my app uses?
Yes, you can disable overages at any time so that your app does not use more than the amount that comes with your plan (plus any additional workload you may have purchased via a workload tier).
Do I need a plan for each app?
You can have as many apps as you’d like, and each app has its own plan.
Will I get notified before I’m charged for workload overages?
Yes, you will receive an email notification when your app has reached 75% of its available workload units. You will also receive an email notification when your app has reached 100% and overages will kick in.
What are the add-ons I can purchase separate from what comes in the plans?
Workload tiers (only available on the Starter, Growth, and Team plans), additional file storage for $3 per 100 GB each month, and plugin subscriptions.

Bubble is a real programming language, designed to replace other programming languages and frameworks traditionally used for web development. This includes backend technologies such as Ruby on Rails, Django, and PHP, as well as frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
What’s different about working with Bubble vs. traditional programming?
In traditional languages, you work with low-level concepts such as clients, servers, databases, data models, and HTML templating. You work in text documents, and it’s up to you to know what to type.
How does Bubble compare to website builders like Webflow, Wordpress, Squarespace, or Wix?
Tools like Wordpress, Squarespace, Wix, and Webflow let you build a website without knowing HTML or CSS. These tools generally don't give you control over your application's flow and design, and instead offer templated solutions to common use cases.
Why use Bubble if you already know how to code?
Bubble automates the boring parts of web development. Spend your time designing your data model and business logic instead of writing formulaic Create, Update, and Delete code. Unlike traditional code generation tools and frameworks, data models built on Bubble are permanently linked to the visual designer
What can I build with Bubble?
With Bubble, you can build interactive, multi-user apps for both desktop and mobile web browsers. Some users have successfully used third-party tools to wrap Bubble websites as native apps and submitted them to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and we plan to fully support native apps in the future.
What can't I build with Bubble?
Theoretically, you can do anything on Bubble that you could with code. Build arbitrarily deep logical expressions, chain together conditional logic, and store data.
Do Bubble apps work on mobile?
Right now, Bubble apps work best in a web browser (though our community has successfully built native mobile apps).
How do hosting and deployment work?
Typically, you would need to manually manage your code and set up a deployment process to a web server. With Bubble, this all happens behind the scenes. Simply create a new app by clicking “New application,” and deploy it by clicking “Deploy to live.”
