Why do I need to provide my own OpenAI API key?
To keep costs low and give you more control, we ask you to provide your own OpenAI API key. You'll be billed directly by OpenAI. Use our cost calculator to estimate costs and compare with competitors.
How do I get my OpenAI API key?
You can get your OpenAI API key by signing up on the OpenAI website. Once you have your API key, you can enter it in the settings page.
What model does the chatbot use?
By default the chatbots use GPT 3.5. You can change the model in the settings page and take advantage of GPT-4.
Are there any other costs?
To train your chatbot, we use OpenAI's embeddings. By providing your own API key, you will be billed directly by OpenAI. This is really cheap and probably costs you a couple of cents.
What happens if I run out of funds on my OpenAI account?
If you run out of funds on your OpenAI account, your chatbot will stop working. You will need to top up your OpenAI account to continue using the chatbot.
Why is there a character limit?
We spent a lot of time optimizing the chatbot to be as efficient as possible. We found that there is a certain limit where the chatbot starts to become less efficient.
What does human escalation mean?
Human escalation means the chatbot will detect when a user wants to speak to a human and hand over the conversation to your support agents. You can enable it on any paid plan.
What is a private bot?
A private bot is accessible only to you on stackbear.com, useful for internal purposes or testing. Bots are private by default; you can make them public on a paid plan.
What is a public bot?
A public bot is accessible to anyone on the internet, useful for your website or blog. You can make it public on a paid plan and embed it as a widget/iframe, or share the link.
What does the email integration do?
The email integration allows you to respond when a conversation got escalated and follow up when the user is not online. Only available on the unlimited plan.
What type of content can I upload?
The chatbot is versatile, trained to engage with FAQs, product details, or any text data you have on your site.
Does it use ChatGPT?
Yes, our solution leverages the same ChatGPT technology to ensure high-quality, contextually relevant responses for your website visitors.
Can I cancel at anytime?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. If you cancel before the end of a billing period, you will retain access to your subscription until the end of that billing period.
