About
OSDG is a free, open-source tool that assigns SDG labels to your input. It supports 15 languages and allows users to input text or PDF files to receive SDG labels. The tool uses machine learning models and an ontology/keyword map to verify the labels. OSDG offers an API for researchers and aims to integrate various existing attempts to classify research according to Sustainable Development Goals, making the process open, transparent, and user-friendly.

Is OSDG free of charge?
The OSDG classification tool is free to use and there are no limits to uploading texts or PDF files. The API access is free for research purposes. If you are a researcher and would like to receive free access to the API, please [contact us](/contact).
Do I need coding skills to use OSDG?
Absolutely not. OSDG has been developed to be quick and easy for anyone to use, regardless of their professional background or skill set.
Does OSDG retain access to uploaded files?
No. Our API is built to process the user’s request and then remove any trace of the upload immediately after the e-mail containing the results has been automatically generated and sent to the user’s inbox.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of goals to end poverty, protect the planet and improve people’s lives around the world by 2030. These goals were adopted by all United Nations Member States in September 2015, as part of the 70th exercise of the UN General Assembly.
