About
The icovid project, co-funded by the EU Horizon 2020 program, developed icolung, a cloud-based AI software for the analysis of non-contrast chest CT scans. Running from September 2020 to February 2023, the project saw icolung impact the care path of 58,000 COVID-19 patients across over 180 hospitals globally. icolung helps detect COVID-19 at an early stage and quantifies the extent of lung lesions, providing diagnostic support, facilitating risk assessment through objective quantification, and enabling better-informed treatment decisions and efficient reporting. The software is available free of charge for routine clinical practice, and its code is open-sourced on GitHub. It is available for clinical use in Europe with pending US regulatory approval and is designed for easy web upload or PACS integration, is cloud-based, and is secure, adhering to ISO13485, ISO27001, GDPR, and HIPAA compliance.
