DATA is an open-source, open-prompt AI assistant designed to be a proactive and self-guided co-worker. It communicates via text, email, and voice, learning and remembering user interactions to provide a personalized experience. DATA integrates with iOS shortcuts for enhanced functionality and offers a subscription with varying features. What is DATA?
DATA is an innovative layer of prompts designed to make AI more predictable, understandable, easy to use, and less complex. It helps you save time by giving structure that allows the AI to behave like it knows you, like you'd expect a co-worker or friend to act. Because of that it's much more natural to communicate with — you don't always have to explain context, etc. It remembers whatever you share, and forgets what you delete, so you have completely transparent control over your AI experience.
How does DATA work?
Anyone can use DATA by talking or texting through text, email, iMessage, or WhatsApp, or through our online chat interface or iOS shortcuts.
What are the shortcuts?
iOS Shortcuts is a default app that comes pre-installed on all your Apple devices. DATA integrates natively with shortcuts (in fact, DATA started out as just a shortcut!). So DATA is able to do home automation and other amazing things with ease thanks to Apple's secure ecosystem.
What can DATA do?
DATA works with all AI language models and allows you to carry the same conversation & work across all of them. DATA operates as an online chat, but you can also text, email, or talk to it. DATA is able to save enormous amounts of time and effort by calling on pre-built skills whenever you ask it to do something complex.
What if I want DATA to do something new?
If you dream up something new for DATA to do, just ask DATA to write the skill to do it and describe how you want it to work. A few minutes later you'll receive a finalized version of the code for that DATA skill that we will review and add for everyone to use, and you'll receive a portion of the DATA Credits whenever someone uses it.
How do I install the shortcuts?
Once you make an account by entering your phone on this page, you can access DATA from any device by visiting chat.HeyDATA.org. You can easily add DATA to your homescreen as an app from that page. To access DATA's shortcuts, submit a request on the website. After signing up, you'll receive a link to download and install DATA Shortcuts.
Why are the website and shortcuts different?
The website and shortcuts offer different interfaces for DATA to ensure privacy and provide a customizable AI experience. Shortcuts run locally on your device, keeping your data secure. Or they can run online with the server so you can sync your memories across devices and use DATA from anywhere — even by WhatsApp or text message. This approach gives you full control over your interactions with AI, ensuring your DATA requests remain private and are not used to train new AI models without your consent.
