Connected Papers is a visual tool that helps researchers explore academic papers. It analyzes thousands of papers to identify connections, arranging them in a graph based on similarity using co-citation and bibliographic coupling. This allows researchers to quickly get a visual overview of a field, ensure they haven't missed key papers, create bibliographies, and discover related works. The tool offers free and paid plans with varying graph limits.

FAQs
Can I use Connected Papers for free?
Yes! Our free tier includes all of the features and provides you with 5 Connected Papers graphs for free, every month. This is enough for most of our users. Researchers who require more than 5 graphs per month can upgrade to one of our paid plans. We are very thankful for your support!
Why should I upgrade to a premium account?
Our Premium users enjoy access to an unlimited amount of Connected Papers graphs every month. In addition, Premium users actively support the ongoing maintenance and development of new features. Thank you!
What is the difference between the Academic and Business plans?
The Academic plan is meant for users who are part of academic institutions, non-profit organizations or who use Connected Papers for personal use. The Business plan is meant for individuals who use Connected Papers in a commercial context, as part of or in relation to their for-profit work. Both plans offer the same value: removing the restrictions of the free plan and allowing you to create and explore an unlimited amount of Connected Papers graphs every month.
How are the group plans different from the personal plans?
Group accounts are meant for teams and organizations who want to provide premium access to their members. Group accounts are controlled by administrator accounts who can assign premium access to users based on purchased seats. Administrators don't get premium access by default but can be added as users to the group plan.
How do you process the payment?
We use the services of PayPro Global to process the payment The checkout page is hosted by them for security reasons Your credit card report will show PayPro Global and not Connected Papers. Connected Papers does not store or manage credit card information.
I need a Premium plan but truly can not afford it
At Connected Papers, our hope and intention is that everyone should have access to tools for research, regardless of their financial situation. For those who do research and truly can not afford a Connected Papers subscription, we offer a scholarship program. Please submit a request to scholarships@connectedpapers.com and we will do our best to set you up with a discounted or free Premium plan.
Who is the team behind Connected Papers?
We are a group of 4 friends who originally built Connected Papers as a side project on the weekends to solve our own problems with literature search. As Connected Papers quickly grew to hundreds of thousands of users, we worked hard to scale our infrastructure and continually provide a smooth and pleasant experience to our users.
