Cascadeur has a special set of tools to simplify the creation of body mechanic animations.
I don’t have any experience in animation, but I need to produce/modify 3D animations. Is Cascadeur the right software for me?
Cascadeur and its tools have been designed to lower the learning curve for its users, so producing and altering animations should be easier compared to other software.
Can Cascadeur’s AI predict what kind of pose or motion I want to make? Can it make animation for me?
Unlike other AI solutions that can produce a complete piece of content with little to no user input, Cascadeur is an AI-assisted software, with an emphasis on assistance.
Are there any released or developing projects made using Cascadeur?
For a long time, Cascadeur was our in-house project. Over the years, we’ve used Cascadeur for our games such as: Vector 1 and 2, Shadow Fight, Shadow Fight 2, Shadow Fight 3, Shadow Fight Arena. Right now, Nekki is developing a single-player gun-fu action game SPINE with the help of Cascadeur.
Does Cascadeur support third-party software?
Cascadeur supports third-party software through standard FBX, Collada and USD formats.
Can I animate non-humanoid characters (animals, robots, monsters, etc) in Cascadeur?
While Cascadeur’s “specialization” is the animation of humanoid characters, you can still rig and animate non-humanoid characters.
Does Cascadeur support the full rigging pipeline? Can I create a skeleton for my model and skin the mesh to the joints?
Currently, you can only create control rigs for your models. The model has to have a skinned skeleton before you import it into Cascadeur, so the skeleton creation and skinning have to be done in another software that supports it.
Can I produce a cartoon-style animation in Cascadeur?
It’s possible, but the tool use is limited compared to other software.
Is Cascadeur only good for producing gameplay animations? Can I make cinematic animations with it?
The gameplay animations are the main focus of Cascadeur, but it’s possible to animate cinematic content.
Can I use Cascadeur in other languages? Can you add support for other languages to Cascadeur and its documentation?
At the moment, we’re only able to focus on providing support in English.
Is there a roadmap with the planned features for Cascadeur?
There’s a public Trello board with the roadmap.
I can’t log in using my Gmail/Facebook email and password
If you have previously signed up using the “Continue with Gmail/Facebook” button, then your Cascadeur account is using the Gmail/Facebook token for logging in. Press the same “Continue with Gmail/Facebook” button on the “Sign In” screen to log into your Cascadeur account.
I have several Gmail accounts. Can I choose which one I would like to use for registering the Cascadeur account?
Yes, you can. After pressing the “Continue with Gmail/Facebook” button, you’ll be prompted to choose the Gmail account to continue to cascadeur.com with.
