How can I install and use Brackets AI?
Brackets AI is provided as an add-in for Microsoft Word and can easily be installed and used from within Word. However, to start using Brackets AI, you first need to purchase a subscription. You can use the form below to request a quote.
What types of contracts can be analyzed?
It's possible to analyze almost any type of contract, as long as the relevant content is included in the document being analyzed. However, for precise reviews, you may need to add specific playbooks (see below).
Is it just for Word documents? What about PDFs?
In addition to the Microsoft Word add-in, Brackets AI provides a web interface that lets you upload and analyze PDFs, even PDFs containing scanned images.
Can I customize the AI review playbooks?
Certainly. You can enable or disable pre-set rules as well as create your own rules. The rules are built using playbooks, which is a collection of "tasks" that provide instructions to the AI about how to review a contract. You can, for example, create a playbook for equipment purchase agreements, with tasks to flag if the payment term is shorter than 30 days or if the warranty period is shorter than 12 months.
Does Brackets AI replace the need for legal professionals?
No. Brackets AI is intended to be used by – not instead of – legal professionals and aims at helping them work more efficiently. The AI-generated output should always be reviewed by such professionals.
What are the system requirements to use Brackets AI?
To install and use the Brackets AI Microsoft Word add-in, you need a recent version of Microsoft Word from a Microsoft 365 account. To access the Brackets AI web interface, you can use a recent version of Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge. In both cases, "recent" refers to stable versions released within the last 6 months. While older versions may still work, they might not support all features.
How is data privacy managed?
The data (contract content) that is analyzed by Brackets AI is processed by Brackets' internal systems and by Microsoft's Azure OpenAI Service/AWS. Neither Brackets nor Microsoft/AWS will use your data for model training or disclose your data except as required to provide the service to you.
