How does this work?
BoltAI uses OpenAI's GPT for AI assistance within macOS apps. Set your API key, then use BoltAI in any text field for suggestions. Features include prompt library, custom AI assistants, Stable Diffusion, and data redaction.
Is my data protected?
BoltAI operates locally; no user input or prompts are stored or sent to us. API key in Apple Keychain. Data is local. Simple Analytics collects anonymous performance data, which can be disabled. Automatic sensitive data redaction included.
Is BoltAI available on Windows or Linux?
Currently, BoltAI is exclusive to Mac. We are evaluating user needs and may consider expanding to other platforms like Windows or Linux in the future. Stay tuned for updates.
How is the cost calculated?
Cost is based on OpenAI's public API pricing, which varies per model and token type. All costs are estimated; refer to your OpenAI dashboard for the most accurate cost of your API key.
What is an AI Assistant?
An AI Assistant in BoltAI is a customized GPT model with tailored instructions and configurations. This allows you to modify the AI's behavior for specific tasks, enhancing utility and adaptability across contexts.
Can I create a custom AI Assistant?
Yes, BoltAI allows you to create custom AI Assistants by adjusting parameters to modify AI behavior and responses. This feature helps tailor the AI for specific needs, enhancing productivity and creativity.
What are the requirements to use BoltAI?
1. A macOS device (macOS 12.0+). 2. An OpenAI API key. 3. Stable internet connection for communication with OpenAI's servers.
How does license work?
It's a perpetual license allowing indefinite use of the current app version. You get one year of free updates. After one year, you can continue using the last version or renew your license at a discount for updates.
Can I use this with my ChatGPT Plus subscription?
No, BoltAI requires its own OpenAI API key. The ChatGPT Plus subscription is separate and does not provide an API key for use with BoltAI. Visit OpenAI's website for API key details.
Can I change the license key to another computer after I activate it?
Yes. Go to BoltAI → Preferences... → License → Unlink Device and follow the instructions.
Do you offer team plan license?

Can I get a refund?
