About
MyLab, developed by lightScience, is a new portable scanner designed to digitalize the entire analytics pipeline for blood testing. It leverages Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) technology, a non-invasive, real-time diagnostic method that uses harmless light to analyze biological tissues. MyLab scans a droplet of fluid, digitizes its spectrometric data, and analyzes it with a proprietary chemometric algorithm directly in the Cloud, powered by AI. The device is optimized for quick and frequent mass screening, usable with an internet connection, and requires no chemical reagents, making it safer for both patients and healthcare professionals. Results are validated by human healthcare professionals and sent to the user's smartphone, connecting them with their doctor. MyLab was conceived during the Covid-2019 pandemic to offer a cheap, fast, and reliable mass screening method, applicable in portable hubs, epidemic outbreaks, and industrial/military sites.
