About
The Generalized Representation and Information Learning Lab (GRILL) is a research group focused on developing advanced methods for machine understanding of natural language text and data. Located at the University of Edinburgh's School of Informatics, GRILL aims to create new algorithms and AI techniques to address complex challenges in machine reasoning, language understanding, and information seeking. The lab leverages deep neural networks and Large Language Models (LLMs) to enable practical applications. Their recent projects encompass Conversational Information Seeking, dialogue systems, multi-task information extraction, and multi-modal representation learning and generation. GRILL's work is supported by grants from Google, Amazon, Bloomberg research, and The Data Lab, reflecting its significant contributions to the field of language technologies and NLP.
