Where is my data stored?
Recordings are encrypted and stored on Amazon AWS servers, while account data is on DigitalOcean. Both providers use bank-grade encryption, and access is restricted to comply with strict privacy standards.
Does OpenAI use my recordings to train their AI models?
No. We have a GDPR-compliant agreement with OpenAI that prohibits them from using your data to train their models. Transcriptions and analyses are processed securely and privately.
Can I export my data?
Yes, at any time, paid or free. We offer comprehensive export functionality for all audio, transcripts, images, and markdown. You also receive a PDF of your full diary.
Is there a lifetime option instead of a subscription?
We do not offer a lifetime subscription. Our service involves ongoing costs for hosting, analysis, and maintenance. A subscription model ensures continuous investment, support, and improvements for all users.
Who besides me can access my data?
Your entries are private. AudioDiary employees do not access your data unless legally required. Third-party providers (AWS, DigitalOcean) follow strict protocols and cannot access your data without legal mandates.
How do I permanently delete my data?
You can delete individual entries (or your entire account) in the app at any time.

Will my entries be used for ads or marketing?
Never. We do not sell, share, monetize, or use your journal entries for anything other than to serve you. Your recordings are and always will be strictly private.
Can I disable the AI features?
The AI is core to AudioDiary's functionality and cannot be turned off. For a non-AI tool, a stock voice recorder is an alternative, though it lacks AudioDiary's advanced features.
