Hello Transcribe is a private and secure speech-to-text transcriber that utilizes OpenAI Whisper and Whisper.cpp. All audio processing is performed directly on-device, ensuring 100% privacy and functionality even when offline. Transcribed results are securely encrypted when saved to iCloud. The app supports transcribing various audio sources, including voice notes, podcasts, and diverse audio file formats. Users can dictate text or perform live transcription using the microphone, and it also handles MP4 video transcription. It offers multiple Model Configs to balance between transcription speed and accuracy, and allows exporting results as VTT or SRT files for video subtitles. Hello Transcribe supports many languages and can translate audio from various languages into English.

Does Hello Transcribe offer automatic saving of dictated text and viewing of past files?
Automatic saving of dictated text to prevent data loss is in the pipeline, and intermediate transcriptions will be saved locally in a future update, possibly requiring iOS 17.
Can transcriptions run in the background on iOS, and will there be searchable text with cursor-linked audio?
Background transcriptions are not possible on iOS due to Apple restrictions, but the next major version will include searchable text with an audio player cursor.
