FAQs
Nothing happens when I click record. What should I do?
This happens if you haven't granted microphone access. For the native app, check your phone's app settings. For the web app on your phone, grant browser microphone access (e.g., Settings > Safari > Microphone > Allow Access on iOS). On desktop, check your browser's mic settings.
The app seems to be taking too long to summarize. What should I do?
If the app takes too long, refresh the page. Then, click the account icon (top left) and select 'Retry Transcription'. Pro tip: on the web app, click 'download latest voice note' before refreshing to save your audio.
I upgraded to Prime but my account still shows as Free. Why?
Account upgrades can take a minute. If it doesn't update, you likely weren't signed in during the upgrade. Email hello@audiopen.ai or use the troubleshooting section, and support will fix it manually.
Is there a native mobile app for AudioPen?
Yes, native mobile apps are available for both Android and iOS. You can find the download links on the AudioPen website.
If I purchase AudioPen Prime on the web, will it work on my other devices?
Yes, a single Prime account provides access to all Prime features across all your devices (native app, web app, Chrome Extension), as long as you log in with the same account.
Can I upload audio files to AudioPen?
Yes, Prime users can upload up to 100 files every 4 weeks, with a maximum size of 100MB per file.
Can I download the audio from my voice note?
Yes, Prime users can download audio from their voice notes. However, audio downloads are only available for a short period after creation, as they are deleted soon after.
Can I just type a note and ask AudioPen to summarise it?
Yes, if you're a Prime user, you can type a note directly into the app and have AudioPen summarize it for you. Look for the button on the bottom right of your home screen.
Does the app work in multiple languages?
Yes, AudioPen supports most major global languages. You can select your desired writing language from the settings menu (top right corner). You can also request new languages via email at hello@audiopen.ai.
What is the difference between folders and tags?
One note can have multiple tags, but only one folder. Folders are a higher level of organization, while tags are for filtering related notes, especially those sharing multiple common topics.
I recorded something but the transcription was incorrect or made no sense. Why?
Incorrect transcriptions can be due to interfering audio (from other apps/tabs), audio from the same device, inactive wireless headset mics, or interfering browser extensions (e.g., VPNs).
I just finished a long recording, but AudioPen only transcribed the first part. Why?
This usually occurs on phones using the web app when the screen turns off or dims. Most phones cut off browser mic access. For a better experience with long recordings, download the native app.
What's your refund policy?
The free version offers a good preview. Refunds are possible within 30 days of purchase for web or Google Play Store Prime versions by emailing hello@audiopen.ai. iOS App Store purchases require contacting Apple for refunds.
Can I expense AudioPen Prime with my company?
Yes, you should be able to expense AudioPen Prime. Most companies provide budgets for productivity tools. When checking out, enter your company details to receive an invoice for reimbursement.
I want to buy multiple AudioPen Prime licenses. What should I do?
