FAQs
How does the client-side encryption work?
All your data is encrypted and decrypted on your device using AES 256 encryption algorithm. The key is never sent to PhotoLog servers, so only you can view your uploads unless you share your encryption password. Each album can have a different encryption password. PhotoLog staff cannot recover encrypted data if the encryption password is lost.
How anonymous is PhotoLog?
We require an email address and billing info (processed by Stripe), but your media is client-side encrypted, inaccessible without your decryption key. For 100% anonymity, pay by crypto (contact contact@glitch.ro).
What do you do with my media files?
Absolutely nothing. Your media is yours alone.
What kind of media files do you support?
We support jpg, jpeg, png (photos); mp4, ogg, webm (videos); tif, cr2, nef, x3f, dng (RAWs). Some formats have limitations; see site for details.
Can I upload *any* kind of content?
Generally yes, but you must own the content and not infringe laws; otherwise, your account may be terminated. See Terms and Conditions for details.
Is my info safe with you?
All data is encrypted; we don't process billing info—it's handled by Stripe.
Is my data visible anywhere?
Your data is visible only to those you share your subscription with, unless you allow others access.
Do you sell or do anything with the data I upload?
NO! The data you upload is yours only.
Any limitations or known issues?
The default maximum upload file size is 100MB. Contact us if you need more.
