SkimIt.ai provides AI-generated summaries of articles, delivered to your email inbox within approximately 10-15 minutes. Users can send any article link to go@skimit.ai, ensuring the URL is the first link in the email body. The service allows users to CC friends, enabling them to also receive the original article and the AI-generated summary. The AI processing is powered by OpenAI's GPT technology. SkimIt.ai was built as a hackathon project by Karthik Sridharan and Alex Furmansky to practice AI text processing, email handling, and web scraping. It's intended as a fun project for quick key takeaways, and users are advised that the content may not be accurate and is for entertainment purposes only. Data retention is limited to sender and CC'd email addresses, and the first URL.

This tool isn't working: Help!
If the tool isn't working, contact us at tldrtool@gmail.com. Summaries may take up to 15 minutes to arrive and could be in your spam folder if delayed.
What is the correct format of the email?
We only read the first URL link in the body of your email. The subject, other content, and signature do not affect the summarization process.
How (and why) would I cc my friends?
You can CC friends when sending an article to go@skimit.ai. They will receive the original article from you and the helpful summary from SkimIt.ai, allowing easy sharing.
What's powering the ai wizardry behind the scenes?
Our AI processing system is powered by OpenAI's GPT technology, providing the underlying capabilities for generating article summaries.
Is the ai-generated content accurate? Can I rely on it?
No, AI-generated content may not be accurate. SkimIt.ai is a fun project for key takeaways, not a source for reliable information. Use it responsibly and for entertainment purposes only.
How do you store my data?
We retain the sender's email, any CC'd email addresses, and the first URL sent per request. No other content from your emails to go@skimit.ai is stored.
