Does Ellie read my emails?
No, Ellie doesn't access your emails. It reads recent replies for context to generate relevant responses and uses example data you provide to match your style.
What browsers are supported?
Ellie is available as a Chrome, Firefox, or Edge Extension. Visit the downloads page for more information.
What email clients are supported?
So far Gmail, Outlook, and Fastmail are fully supported. A toolbar popup can be used for other clients, with full support for more web-based clients coming soon.
Why is there a limit on the number of replies?
Training AI and generating content costs money. As a small team without external funding, we must charge. Paid plans offer more replies.
Why did you make this?
We made Ellie to address the power imbalance in email. It helps users reclaim control over their inbox by automating replies, reducing time spent on unwanted emails. It also aids with reply anxiety and language skills.
How does teaching Ellie new information work?
You can provide Ellie with documents or URLs. Ellie reads them and intelligently includes relevant learned information in its replies.
I don't want you to read my private emails!
We believe in data privacy. Your email replies are only used by Ellie to generate a response. We don't store, share, sell, or do anything shady with your data.
Can I use Ellie to write cold-emails?
No. Ellie will only write replies to emails, not cold emails.
What is a reply?
Each plan gives you a certain number of replies. This is how many emails Ellie can write for you per day.
What's the difference between the AI models?
All plans now use the same Intelligent AI model for generating replies. The model is highly capable and optimized for email communication.
What is Knowledge Base Training?
Casual plans include Basic Knowledge Base Training for small custom info. Business & Professional plans offer Advanced Knowledge Base Training, supporting extensive customization with PDFs, documents, or website URLs.
How does Ellie work with my email?
Casual: Ellie works as a browser extension directly within Gmail, Outlook web, and Fastmail. Business & Professional: Ellie offers direct inbox integration with Gmail/Google Workspace and Outlook, also with browser extension access.
What are "Auto-draft" and "Auto-categorise" features?
Available on Business and Professional plans, these features allow Ellie to automatically draft replies and categorize emails, saving time. Ellie never sends an email without your final check.
How many email accounts can I connect?
Business: 1 connected account per user. Professional: Up to 3 connected accounts per user.
What are roles for?
The Roles feature allows you to specify different positions for Ellie, each using different training sets (e.g., Customer Support). Ellie uses relevant documentation and instructions while in a specific role.
